Elvington Airfield

Showcasing arguably the largest run off area of any of the tracks that we operate our experience days – you would have to do something very wrong to cause serious damage to cars at this circuit! Elvington also boasts one of the longest runways in the UK which has been adapted over the years by plenty of F1 teams for testing. Motoring press also consider Elvington a popular venue. The circuit found itself in the headlines back in September 2006 after a certain incident involving a Top Gear presenter. Originally opened as RAF Elvington, it was used as a station for the Royal Airforce that ran from the start of the Second World War until 1992. The airfield is now owned by Elvington Park Ltd. The adjacent buildings and control tower have been restored and it currently being used as the Yorkshire Air Museum that showcases many rare aircrafts and also a complete Halifax bomber. Apart from Supercar experiences, Elvington also use the track for motorcycle racing. 6th Gear have constructed a challenging but fast circuit which has proved to be a major attraction for nearly 10 years! Castle Combe (Premium Track)

Castle Combe started off in 1941 as an airfield, home to RAF Castle Combe for 7 years before being decommissioned in 1948. The venue then re-opened as Castle Combe Circuit in 1950 just 18 months after the world famous Silverstone Circuit. The circuit was based on the perimeter of the old airfield and remained unchanged from the day it opened up until 1998 when two chicanes were added to the track for safety reasons. In 1997, prior to the changes to the track, a lap record was set by Nigel Greensall in his Tyrrell 022 – lapping the circuit at 130.93mph. Castle Combe have hosted a wide variety of different motorsport events over the years, with Formula 3 returning to the venue in 2001. However, this was to be short lived as a noise nuisance order was issued in 2005 meaning the venue had to reduce its noise level. With the British Formula 3 Championship and the British GT Championship exceeding these new limitations, it resulted in these events no longer being held at Castle Combe. Today, Castle Combe Circuit still host many different motorsport events ranging from championship racing to Classic car shows. This venue is classed as a premium circuit therefore incurs a £30.00 upgrade cost (unless stated otherwise on your voucher). Castle Combe Circuit, Castle Combe, Chippenham, Wiltshire, SN14 7EY

Dunsfold Park (Top Gear Track) (Premium Track)

Built by the Canadian Army, and commanded by the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1942-1944 the aerodrome was used for military use. After the war, Dunsfold became one of the largest aerodromes for production and testing of planes including York, Lancastrian, Skymaster and Dove. British Aerospace (the then owners of Dunsfold) announced the closure of the aerodrome for restructuring in June 1999. In 2002, British Aerospaces’ successors (BAE Systems) sold Dunsfold to The Rutland Group, who created Dunsfold Park Ltd. Since then, the venue has been used to film scenes from “Come Fly With Me”, “Casino Royale”, “Red 2” and “London Has Fallen”. The track has also, most famously, been used as the site of Top Gear, the runway is now a test track. The layout of the circuit was designed by Lotus test drivers and is marked on the run way using painted lines and structures such as tyre tracks. There are 2 layouts of the circuit. The figure 8 is used for the filming of Top Gear, however we run on the outer circuit. This layout is designed to give a mix of low and high speed corners plus a range of straights to allow you to enjoy a top of the range Supercar experience. Not only will you be given the opportunity to drive on a variation of the track used for Top Gear, but also you will drive past the famous Boeing 747-200 used in the film Casino Royale. Dunsfold is the perfect track if you are looking for something to do in the South! This venue is classed as a premium circuit therefore incurs a £30.00 upgrade cost (unless stated otherwise on your voucher - not required for junior driving experiences) Dunsfold Park, Cranleigh, Surrey, GU6 8HY
