FERRARI: Founded in 1939 by Enzo Ferrari, the company built its first car in 1940. However, the company was first recognised as an auto manufacturer back in 1947, when the first Ferrari-badged car was completed, this was the 125 S. Enzo saw his very first race aged just 10 years old…however it is rumoured that he learned to drive at just 13! (Who knows, letting a junior participate in one of our driving experiences may see the rise of a new legendary car manufacturer!) The black prancing horse in the famous Ferrari logo was originally the symbol of Count Francesco Baracca, a flying ace in the Italian air force. The family of Francesco allowed Enzo to use this as his emblem to bring him good luck! Enzo’s main quote about his company is “My motors have soul”…which is very true! Ferrari is a name that everyone remembers...much like seeing the face of someone who has just finished driving one!

Rewind about ten years or so and there was little in the way of a fast car driving experience available in the UK. The best supercar driving experience days didn’t even include iconic supercars from manufacturers like Lamborghini or Aston Martin.

Lamborghini driving experiences are traditionally our top seller and this is reflected in the fact that kids also seem to want to involve themselves in our junior Lamborghini driving experience. As long as they are at least 5ft they can actually drive a Lamborghini equipped with dual controls and an instructor sat in the passenger seat watching their every move! It’s interesting that searching online for Lamborghini experience UK brings up DriveMe as the most popular choice for a Lamborghini experience. Perhaps this is because we invented it!

Back in the early 2000’s a Ferrari driving experience was far and away the top selling car driving experience. It’s interesting as we have mentioned before, how trends and tastes change over the years. Typically on a DriveMe Experience event day, facilities are second to none with great quality catering available, a large marquee to provide cover from that inclement weather we are all used to here in the UK. Other optional extras such as Pay and Drive are available on the day aimed at those who wish to drive extra supercars as well as their pre-booked choices. Friends and family are all welcome and if they bring their driving license too they can pick a supercar and also partake in a fast car experience too.

There is a difference though between a supercar day and a race day experience. DriveMe doesn’t really cater for hardened track enthusiasts – we leave this to others. What we do superbly is to provide a supercar track day experience usually as a gift, for someone who is very special.

We get asked often at DriveMe how much a supercar driving experience costs. Of course many of our valued customers will spend as little at £79 or so purchasing a Ferrari experience for a family member for example. Others will go to the extreme and spend £495 or more on what may end up being a full day driving experience.
