Yorkshire and the Humber
The closest track to Yorkshire is Elvington in Yorkshire. RAF Elvington is an airfield and racetrack just outside of York in Yorkshire. This popular track includes junior driving experiences and supercar driving thrills. Some of the Supercars that are available are the Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin and Ariel Atom. Elvington also boasts one of the longest runways in the UK which has been adapted over the years by plenty of F1 teams for testing. Motoring press also consider Elvington a popular venue. The circuit found itself in the headlines back in September 2006 after a certain incident involving a Top Gear presenter. Originally opened as RAF Elvington, it was used as a station for the Royal Airforce that ran from the start of the Second World War until 1992. The airfield is now owned by Elvington Park Ltd. The adjacent buildings and control tower have been restored and it currently being used as the Yorkshire Air Museum that showcases many rare aircrafts and also a complete Halifax bomber. Elvington Airfield is just over 5 miles away from the centre of York, being just 20 miles in the car. There is also a bus which stops directly outside the location from the Rail station in York, which takes just over half an hour.
Blyton Park track is also accessible from Yorkshire. Blyton Park is situated in the North West; it is approximately five miles of Gainsborough in Lincolnshire and one mile from Blyton Village. Blyton Park has been in existence for a long time and has also undergone new management and has been resurfaced, this new design allows for less barriers and as much tarmac run-off as possible. A lot of work has been put into this track making it a very popular track to drive Supercars on. The new circuit has attracted supercar manufacturers such as Pagani and Mclaren to use the ground for testing. It takes an hour and a half to get to Blyton from York via the M180. It also can be reached from York train station within 2-3 hours.
